Koh Samui

Samui sits in the Gulf of Thailand and has its own airport, which is most of its appeal: you land and you are at the hotel. The north and north west coves are the quiet end; Chaweng on the east is the busy one. The Ang Thong national marine park is a day trip by boat. Samui runs on a different weather pattern to the Andaman coast, so it is at its best when Phuket is wet, and its own rain comes in the last months of the year.
