Napa & Sonoma

Napa and Sonoma sit an hour north of San Francisco and run on appointments: the wineries worth visiting take bookings rather than walk ins, which is the part we handle. Napa is the more polished valley with the bigger names along Highway 29; Sonoma is larger, more varied and more relaxed, with Healdsburg as the best base. The restaurants are a destination in themselves. Harvest from late August to October is the best time and the hardest to book; spring is green and quiet.
