Acqualina Resort & Residences occupies 4.5 acres of oceanfront in Sunny Isles Beach, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with 400 feet of Atlantic coastline. The property is about 19 miles from Miami International Airport and 14 miles from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Guest rooms and suites face either the Intracoastal waterway or the ocean, and each has a private terrace.
Accommodations were designed by Miami-based designer Isabel Tragash, working in zebra wood, walnut, champagne bronze and smoked glass, with chenille velvets and bouclé fabrics set against a palette of grey, taupe, sand and celadon. Guest rooms come with a king-size bed, a wingback club chair and a marble bathroom with double sinks; suites add a separate living room, two televisions and, in many cases, a full gourmet kitchen with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and Italian Lapitec stone counters.
Four restaurants operate on site: Avra Miami for Greek coastal cooking, Il Mulino New York for Italian, Ke-uH for Japanese fusion, and Costa Grill, an oceanfront spot reserved for guests, residents and Beach Club members. Acqualina Spa covers 20,000 square feet with eleven treatment rooms and a private spa suite for two, and sits alongside three outdoor pools, including an adults-only pool and a family-oriented Recreational Pool. Children aged four to twelve can join AcquaMarine, a complimentary marine-biology-themed programme, and small dogs up to 25 pounds are welcome with an arrival amenity.
