Chobe Under Canvas sits in the northern reaches of Chobe National Park, close to the banks of the Chobe River, in a region known for some of Africa's largest elephant herds. The camp is semi-permanent and built around just five canvas tents, each set apart for privacy. Game paths run close to the tents, tracing routes that elephant and buffalo have used for generations.

Each tent holds a double or twin bed, an ensuite bathroom with a separate flushing toilet, and an indoor bucket shower with hot water on request. Mesh windows open to the sounds of the bush, and lanterns light the camp after dark: there is no electricity and no television. A private butler attends to each tent, and guests share a well-stocked mobile bar and open-sided guest tents between game drives. Meals are prepared over open flame and taken fireside or under canvas.

Days are built around twice-daily game drives, tracking elephant, predators and birdlife across the floodplains. Guests staying two nights or more receive a complimentary photographic river safari aboard the Pangolin Voyager, a boat fitted with swivel chairs and camera mounts for close work on the Chobe River. The park holds over 450 recorded bird species, and clear night skies make for easy stargazing.
