Fourteen suites on the 17,806-hectare Suyian Conservancy in Laikipia, each with a private plunge pool and a view toward Mt Kenya.
Suyian Lodge stands on the Suyian Conservancy in Laikipia, northern Kenya, within 17,806 hectares (44,000 acres) of unfenced wilderness. The Ewaso Narok River runs below the escarpment and Mt Kenya is visible on the horizon. Ancient granite kopjes rise across the land, and the Rock Sanctuary sits at the heart of the property. Samburu guides lead walks along routes their families have used for generations.
Fourteen suites make up the lodge: thirteen Suites and one Family Suite. Each Suite covers 180 square metres and sleeps up to two guests, with floor-to-ceiling glass, a private rim-flow plunge pool and views over the escarpment and kopjes. The Family Suite adds 205 square metres, a children's bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom, and sleeps up to two adults and two children. The design follows an Afro Wabi-Sabi approach, using curved forms and earthen textures drawn from the land and from the area's semi-nomadic communities.
Shared spaces include a lounge, library and map room that double as an interpretive centre, a Samburu bar, a house kitchen, and a mix of indoor and outdoor dining areas. A separate wellness centre, set between rocky outcrops, has two treatment rooms with private showers and verandas, a steam room and a cold plunge pool. Activities range from twice-daily game drives and guided nature walks to horseback riding safaris, camel experiences and active ranching alongside local herders. Wildlife recorded on the conservancy includes black leopard, wild dog, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe.
