On the northeast coast of Mauritius, near Poste de Flacq, Constance Prince Maurice belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World collection. The property is built around a sheltered lagoon, with rooms and villas arranged along the beach and on stilts over the Barachois. Golf is played on the Legend or Links courses, each an 18-hole championship layout, and the wine cellar holds over 25,000 bottles, looked after by a resident sommelier.
Accommodation runs from the 70 square metre Junior Suite, offered in garden, stilts and beachfront positions and sleeping up to three, to the 350 square metre Princely Villa, which comprises two Junior Suites and a villa with a patio, three private terraces each facing a different part of the ocean, and its own heated pool with a dedicated villa master. The 86 square metre Family Suite adds a separate children's room with bunk beds, while the Villa on Stilts and the Beach Villa with a Private Pool, both 130 square metres, sit closer to the water, the latter with its own heated pool.
Dining covers three restaurants: Archipel for international and Mauritian dishes, an Asian restaurant for Japanese and Chinese cuisine, and Le Barachois, reached by a lantern-lit pontoon through mangrove trees and the only floating seafood restaurant in Mauritius. Three bars, including one built over the water, round out the drinks list. The spa has two couple's treatment rooms, five single rooms and a beach kiosk, alongside a sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool and a 24-hour fitness centre. Children aged four to eleven are looked after at the Coconut Tribe kids' club, and honeymooners can arrange a half-board package that includes a bottle of sparkling wine and a candlelight dinner, subject to presenting a marriage certificate no older than twelve months.
