La Mamounia stands on Avenue Bad Jdid in the Hivernage district of Marrakech, a few minutes' drive from the Koutoubia Mosque and the Medina. The hotel dates to 1923 and was renovated in 2020 and 2023 by architects Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku. It has 209 rooms, suites and riads in total: 135 rooms, 71 suites and three private riads, arranged around gardens planted with roses, orange, olive and palm trees.
Four restaurants operate on site: L'Asiatique par Jean-Georges, L'Italien par Simone Zanoni, Le Marocain and Le Pavillon de la Piscine, the last of these also hosting a Sunday brunch. Two tea rooms bear the name of pastry chef Pierre Hermé, and four bars include Le Bar Majorelle and Le Churchill. The spa covers 2,500 sqm, with two traditional hammams, one private hammam and ten treatment rooms, using Valmont, Augustinus Bader and marocMaroc products. Guests can also use two clay tennis courts, a gym, a sauna, a boulodrome and both an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool.
The three riads, each measuring 700 sqm, stand apart in the gardens with their own entrance, heated pool, terrace and a butler on duty around the clock; each sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms. The hotel is six kilometres, about ten minutes by car, from Marrakech-Menara airport, and can arrange excursions with a guide and driver to the Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs and Palmeraie.
