The neighbourhood keeps its shotengai character: narrow streets lined with independent shops and eateries, and the Toden Arakawa Line, the city's only remaining tram, running past in the background.

The hotel's OMO Base supplies neighbourhood maps checked by staff, along with an OMO Café and evening events such as the Local Rhythm Night. Staff called OMO Rangers point guests toward local restaurants, including Onigiri Bongo and the gastro bar Kushikoma. On site, OMO Cafe & Bar serves a one-plate breakfast with a choice of ochazuke, American breakfast, French toast or croque monsieur, served with salad and seasonal fruit, and later in the day offers sweets and light snacks to guests and passers-by alike.
