نظرة عامة

Aman Kyoto opened in 2019 as Aman's second property in Japan, on a wooded plot in the city's northern Takagamine district, at the foothills of Hidari Daimonji mountain, a 30-minute drive from Kyoto Station. It stands close to the golden Kinkaku-ji Temple and 16 other UNESCO World Heritage Sites, though the resort itself feels apart from the city, arranged among trees and glades in the manner of a traditional ryokan.

The Suites and Pavilions follow a minimalist ryokan aesthetic, framed by the surrounding forest, and include private onsen fed by mineral-rich hot springs that also supply the Aman Spa. Dining runs between Taka-An, where Executive Chef Shinichiro Takagi prepares an omakase Kaiseki menu that changes with every seating, and the Living Pavilion, which serves Western and local dishes in a more convivial setting.

Tea House Senkutsu hosts the Japanese tea ceremony, or chanoyu, in a room scented with fresh tatami. The resort also serves as a base for exploring Kyoto's temples and for journeys that combine stays at Aman Tokyo and Amanemu. Guests arrive via Osaka's Kansai International Airport, a two-hour drive or a 90-minute express train to Kyoto Station followed by a short transfer, or a one-hour drive from Osaka International Airport.
