Hotel Sacher Vienna opened in 1876 and stands at Philharmoniker Strasse 4, beside the Vienna State Opera and close to the Albertina, St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Hofburg. The hotel has been part of Vienna's cultural and social life since it opened, and today welcomes guests from over 100 nations. Its 152 rooms and suites were designed by co-owner Alexandra Winkler together with designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, with marble bathrooms and materials that combine period character with contemporary comfort.
The kitchens and bars carry the Sacher name across several settings: Restaurant Rote Bar and Restaurant Grüne Bar for Viennese and international cooking, the Blaue Bar for an apéritif before the opera, and Café Sacher Wien and Café Bel Étage for coffee and the Original Sacher-Torte. Salon Sacher serves afternoon tea by day and small dishes in the evening, and room service runs breakfast, day and night menus. The Sacher Boutique Spa, open daily from 11am to 7pm, offers facial and body treatments from Seed to Skin, Royal Fern and Ligne St. Barth, alongside a 24-hour fitness room, a Finnish sauna and a steam bath.
2026 marks the hotel's 150th anniversary. In the same year, Hotel Sacher Vienna was ranked No. 42 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026, the only hotel from Austria on the list and its second consecutive year included. The hotel also hosts meetings, weddings and private events in period rooms including the Marble Hall, Salon Metternich, Salon Mayerling and Schönbrunner Loge.
