Etéreo occupies nine acres of beachfront within Kanai, a resort development on Mexico's Riviera Maya, about 24 miles south of Cancún International Airport and six miles from Playa del Carmen. The resort sits between mangrove forest and the Caribbean Sea, with direct access to a private white-sand beach. In 2026 it was awarded Two Keys by The Michelin Guide.
Accommodations are split between Studios and Suites, each with floor-to-ceiling windows, large terraces and, in many cases, private plunge pools. Interiors combine contemporary design with regional materials and carved wooden walls by artist Manuel Felguérez. Studio categories include the Mangrove Studio, the Ocean Studio and two-bedroom connecting configurations with ocean or mangrove views, ranging from 875 to 1,750 square feet. Suites add outdoor living space and personal service through a Guia, with larger categories including roof decks and hot tubs.
Dining spans three restaurants, Itzam, Che Che and El Changarro, overseen by Executive Chef Carlos Segura, who works with local farmers, fishermen and artisans. Wellbeing is centred at SANA, Wellbeing by Auberge, which includes a cenote-inspired pool, sauna, clay room and sound room, alongside treatments such as the Cleanse. The resort has three pools, Tranquilo for adults, Vivo for families, and a children's pool with a splash pad, plus a Chavitos Kids Club, guided nature walks and craft sessions for younger guests.
