Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the old capital of the north, a walled city of temples surrounded by hills, and it moves at a pace nothing in Bangkok does. The draws are the temples, the food, the crafts in the surrounding villages and the river valleys outside the city. The cool season from November to February is the reason to come then; March and April bring the burning season, when air quality falls sharply and we would send you elsewhere. Rain arrives from June.
