Hoi An & Central Vietnam

Central Vietnam is the most rewarding part of the country for a short stay. Hoi An is a preserved trading port, walkable and lantern lit, with tailors and a food scene worth the trip; Da Nang, thirty minutes away, has the beach hotels; Hue, two hours north, has the citadel and the royal tombs. Between February and August the weather is dry and hot; October and November bring heavy rain and occasional flooding in Hoi An itself.
