Overview
Lake Braies fills with visitors between nine and five in summer and empties completely after that, which is why staying on its shore is so different from visiting it. The lodge has twenty six rooms, most with lake facing balconies, a restaurant serving South Tyrolean food, and a spa with a lake water plunge pool. Rowing boats are for guests before the public arrives. In winter the lake freezes and the lodge becomes a base for the Kronplatz ski area, twenty minutes away, and for snowshoeing in the Fanes Sennes Braies park. The owners are the third generation of the same family and the cooking reflects it.
