Kuala Lumpur & Desaru

Kuala Lumpur is Malay, Chinese and Indian at once, which shows most clearly in the food, and the hotels are good value for the standard. The Batu Caves and the Genting highlands are short drives out. Desaru, on the south east coast, is a newer resort coast with golf and long beaches, reached in about an hour and a half from Singapore, which makes it a practical add on rather than a separate journey. The weather is equatorial and warm all year; the east coast monsoon runs November to February.
