Overview
Set on a quiet street two minutes from the Boulevard Saint-Germain, the hotel occupies a hôtel particulier built in 1740 and restored over three years. The forty rooms keep their original proportions, with parquet, stone fireplaces and fabrics chosen room by room, and the bathrooms are new. There is a courtyard garden for breakfast, a small spa with a hammam and a bar that fills with locals from six. The travel agents is the reason we book it: dinner at Septime or Le Comptoir on short notice, a private guide at the Musée d'Orsay before it opens, and a driver who understands the city. The Louvre is a fifteen minute walk across the Pont des Arts.
