Overview

Jade Mountain rises above Anse Chastanet's 600-acre beachfront estate in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. Architect-owner Nick Troubetzkoy designed the resort as a work of organic architecture, its rugged stone columns rising through the rainforest. Individual bridges lead from a central path to each sanctuary, four of the five categories built around a private infinity pool where the bedroom, living area and pool merge into one space behind a single open wall. From these vantage points guests look directly onto the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At the Jade Mountain Club, Chef Allen Susser, a James Beard Award winner, leads the kitchen behind Jade Cuisine, served at an open-air dining room set against a coloured infinity pool. Above it, the Celestial Terrace is used for sunset cocktails, private dinners and stargazing, and has twice hosted the Final Rose proposal on ABC's The Bachelor, in both the US and UK versions. Ingredients come from the resort's own Emerald Farm in the Soufriere hills and from Anse Mamin, the estate's former sugarcane and cocoa plantation, which still supplies cocoa for the resort's own chocolate. Guests can also arrange private dining in their sanctuary, on Anse Mamin beach, or on the Celestial Terrace. The spa, Kai en Ciel, offers body and beauty treatments including VOYA seaweed-based therapies and a couples ritual called the Alchemy of Two, either at the spa itself or within a guest's own sanctuary.

Jade Mountain guests can use the full range of facilities at the adjoining Anse Chastanet Resort, a two-minute shuttle ride or short walk away, including its restaurants, boutiques, art gallery and second spa, Kai Belté. The two resorts share over 12 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails and a PADI 5 Star scuba operation, with snorkelling directly off the beach. Jade Mountain was the first Caribbean hotel to earn LEED Gold certification, and weddings can be arranged on the Celestial Terrace, on Anse Chastanet or Anse Mamin beach, at the Anse Mamin plantation, aboard the resort's boats, or in the Botanical Gardens at the Diamond Mineral Baths.

Four of the five sanctuary categories, Galaxy, Sun, Moon and Star, include a private infinity pool built into the sanctuary. The Sky Sanctuary, also called the Sky Whirlpool Suite, does not have a private pool but includes a chromatherapy whirlpool tub.
