Overview

Hotel Plaza Athénée Nobu New York is a conversion project led by AWC and Nobu, reworking a heritage building on the Upper East Side into the brand's first hotel in the city. The building is approaching a century old. The design pairs European classical architecture with Nobu's simpler, contemporary Japanese sensibility, and the hotel sits close to Central Park, museums, consulates and some of the city's established shopping streets.

The finished hotel will have 139 rooms and suites, designed around a sense of calm and understated comfort. Signature suites on the upper floors will include indoor and outdoor glass-enclosed terraces.

Food and drink will centre on an intimate Nobu omakase concept, a bar and lounge intended as a gathering point for guests and locals, and an all-day dining restaurant. A spa and salon will round out the facilities. AWC is overseeing the development, including its concept and design.
