Overview

Aman Venice occupies Palazzo Papadopoli, one of the city's eight monumental palazzos on the Grand Canal, in the Sestiere San Polo district. The hotel opened in 2013, and its interiors, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, set contemporary restraint against the palazzo's Rococo paintings and 16th-century Sansovino sculptures. A private garden, rare for a building in Venice's floating streets, sits beside the dining rooms and suites.

Accommodation is arranged across four categories: Suites, Signature Rooms, Rooms and Apartments. Nearly every room looks over the Grand Canal, and many retain frescoes and reliefs by Italian artists of the period. The hotel is a short walk from Piazza San Marco, within reach of the city's gondola routes and narrow calli.

Dining runs from the piano nobile to the garden. Arva serves modern Italian dishes and The Bar sits alongside it, while the Palazzo Kitchen Table offers a ten-course, chef-led menu at an open teppanyaki-style counter, prepared by executive chef Matteo Panfilio using Italian ingredients and Japanese technique. Marco Polo Airport is 50 minutes away by boat, with a limousine transfer to the mainland dock followed by a water taxi to the palazzo's landing.
