Overview
Amanjena takes its architectural cues from the rose-hued buildings of the Marrakech Medina, a short drive from the city's fabled Red City core. The resort opened in 2000 and occupies its own expanse of gardens, with shaded courtyards and fountains leading to a central basin bordered by standalone Pavilions and Villas. Views extend over olive groves and palms to the High Atlas Mountains on the horizon. The property lies minutes from Djemaa el-Fna Square and the UNESCO-protected medina, and about twenty minutes by car from Marrakech Menara Airport.
Accommodation is arranged in Pavilions and Villas rather than conventional hotel rooms. Pavilions have vaulted ceilings, Moorish arches and, in many cases, sky-high domed ceilings, paired with private gardens, courtyards and traditional gazebos; a number come with private pools. Villas are designed for families, with ensuite bedrooms and their own private gardens.
Dining runs across The Moroccan Restaurant, Arva, the Pool Terrace & Olive Grove and The Bar, spanning local Moroccan dishes and seasonal Italian plates. The spa offers Moroccan hammam rituals, and the resort runs onsite tennis clinics. The 27-hole Amelkis Championship Golf Course lies nearby, and Amanjena also offers a three-night golf break covering green fees at Amelkis (or Royal) and Assoufid, daily breakfast and round-trip airport transfers.
