Overview
Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo sits across 45 acres (18 hectares) of tropical land overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Guanacaste. The accommodation programme runs from Guest Rooms through Suites, Specialty Suites and fifteen Private Residences, each with private pools, outdoor living space and views of the peninsula. New York studio Meyer Davis designed the interiors, drawing on the surrounding jungle and a natural colour palette, while the Private Residences were designed by architect Ronald Zürcher to sit into the hillside with private kitchens and infinity pools.
Dining spans eight named venues. Añejo serves tapas and cocktails after dark and quick breakfast bites before surf lessons. Pesce is an Italian kitchen with an extensive wine list and ocean views. Bahia is a wood-fired, all-day Latin grill using locally sourced ingredients. Nemare, at the Peninsula Papagayo golf clubhouse, is a steakhouse drawing its name and flavours from the Chorotega word for smoke. Palapita, at the Tennis Centre, serves Costa Rican street food and beer from Papagayo Brewery. Virador Beach Club, overseen by Chef Khaled Natour, serves Mediterranean and Levantine dishes by the sea. La Reserva focuses on Latin American rum, and in-room dining runs around the clock.
The spa has 18 treatment rooms offering a signature Rainforest Massage and a Tsuru Cacao Ancestral Ritual, alongside a nearby Wellness Shala for yoga, sound healing and visiting practitioners, and a 24-hour fitness centre. Beyond the spa, the resort operates a golf course with clubhouse, tennis, pickleball and padel courts at Papagayo Park, an aerial adventure course at Palmares Outpost with seven ziplines and 21 high-ropes obstacles, and a dedicated SurfX programme for lessons and equipment. Family programming includes Kids For All Seasons, the outdoor Papagayo Explorers and the Tuanis Teen Centre.
