Hotel · Istanbul, Turkey
A waterfront hotel on the Bosphorus between Ortaköy and Bebek, with rooms and suites that face the strait, the Naile Sultan Grove or the hotel's own courtyard.
Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul sits on Muallim Naci Caddesi in Kuruçeşme, on the European shore of the Bosphorus between Ortaköy and Bebek, within the Beşiktaş district. The building takes its cues from the waterfront mansions and palaces that line the strait, and from the Bosphorus itself as a defining feature of the city's history. Ortaköy's waterfront square and mosque, Bebek's promenade and cafés, and Beşiktaş's markets and ferry connections are all within reach, as are Dolmabahçe Palace, Galata Tower and the Historic Peninsula sites of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.
Rooms and suites look over the Bosphorus, the Naile Sultan Grove or the hotel's own courtyard and gardens. Categories range from the Superior Room to a run of Bosphorus-facing rooms and suites, including the Junior Bosphorus Suite with its private roof terrace and the Oriental Bosphorus Suite, which occupies the central wing's top floor with access to three private terraces. The Royal Bosphorus Suite, the hotel's largest, covers 474 square metres and includes a gym, a study, a dressing room, a winter garden and a fully equipped kitchen. Dining is spread across Novikov Istanbul, an Italian and Asian fusion restaurant; Olea & Bar, built around Italian cooking; and Bosphorus Lounge and its waterfront cabanas, which serve cocktails and afternoon tea. In-room dining runs around the clock, and the Mandarin Cake Shop handles pastry and desserts.
The spa occupies 3,500 square metres and includes 11 treatment rooms, three hammams with separate facilities for men and women, an indoor pool with a jacuzzi and a children's pool, a Pilates and yoga studio, and a fitness room with daylight and access to an outdoor garden. Outdoor padel courts sit by the water, and a Kids Club runs alongside. For events, the hotel has a grand ballroom with two junior ballrooms, a ballroom garden, six further meeting rooms and smaller spaces including the railway-carriage-inspired Oriental Meeting Room. The hotel has held a Michelin One Key distinction from the Michelin Guide, a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star rating for 2022 to 2026, and was voted Best Hotel in Türkiye by Condé Nast Traveler readers from 2023 to 2025.
