Overview
Museum Hotel occupies a group of cave and traditional stone buildings in Uçhisar, at the centre of Cappadocia. It has operated since 2003 as what it describes as the world's first museum concept hotel: hundreds of historical artifacts from the Hittite, Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, registered with Nevşehir Museum, are displayed through the guest rooms, public areas, cave tunnels and restaurant. The hotel holds Relais & Châteaux status, the only property in Cappadocia to do so.
The hotel has 34 rooms and suites across six categories: Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Suites, Superior Suites, Prime Suites, Imperial Suites and Imperial Pool Suites, each built into the property's stone and cave architecture and furnished with pieces from the hotel's antique collection. Dining is centred on Lil'a, the hotel's à la carte restaurant, listed in the Michelin Guide and built around a farm to table approach that draws on the hotel's own fields and local producers. Chef Saygın Sesli received the Relais & Châteaux Rising Chef award in 2023. Cavo, a restored historical cave, operates as the hotel's wine cellar, with guided tastings and pairing menus drawn from Anatolian producers. An outdoor Roman pool is heated to 30 to 32 degrees Celsius throughout the year, including winter.
Wellness options include massage therapy in-room or in a therapy lounge, private bath rituals using rose, milk and wine, and a traditional Turkish barber service on the terrace. Private dining is arranged on the Loggia terrace or in Love Valley, and a private breakfast can be set on a guest terrace or in a nearby valley. Suites linked to the hotel's honeymoon offering include private pools and wine fountains. The hotel also hosts weddings and events, with its own event venues. It stands at Tekelli mah.
