Overview

Raffles London at The OWO occupies the Old War Office building on Whitehall, a Grade II* listed Edwardian Baroque property that was once home to Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Haldane, and where MI5 and MI6 conducted intelligence work during the twentieth century. Novelist Ian Fleming was a regular visitor, and scenes from several James Bond films have been shot on location here. The building has been restored and now holds 120 rooms and suites.

The interiors were designed by Thierry Despont, known for his restoration of the Statue of Liberty, and combine Edwardian architectural detail with contemporary furnishings. Five Heritage Suites occupy the building's most storied rooms, including the Churchill Suite, where Britain's military leaders made key Second World War decisions, and the Haldane Suite, once used by War Secretary Lord Haldane. Heritage Suite guests receive butler service, flexible check-in and check-out, complimentary airport transfers, a stocked minibar and access to fitness classes.

Dining spans nine restaurants and three bars, including a Michelin-starred restaurant from chef Mauro Colagreco, Saison by Mauro Colagreco for Mediterranean all-day dining, Kioku by Endo for Japanese cuisine with rooftop views, and Milanese cooking at Paper Moon and Langosteria. The Drawing Room serves the Secrets & Spies afternoon tea, a nod to the building's espionage history. The Guerlain Spa spans 27,000 sq ft across four floors, with a swimming pool, sauna, 24-hour gym and treatments developed by Guerlain Paris and Pillar Wellbeing.
