Overview

Sublime Comporta sits on a 68-hectare estate of umbrella pines, cork trees and wild sand dunes, a little over an hour's drive from Lisbon. Rooms, suites and villas are scattered through the landscape rather than grouped in a single block, organised across two wings the resort calls Terracotta and Sand. Named categories include the Spa Suite, Spa Room King Bed, Spa Room Queen Bed, Cabana Suite, Cabana Suite Superior, Cabana Room, two, three, four and five-bedroom Cabana Villas, Bio-Pool Suites, Mezzanine Suites, Villa Suite Sublime and Villa Room Standard and Master.

The Spa Suite, one of only five units in the adults-only Spa House, gives a sense of the detail at play: 40 square metres indoors and a further 21 square metres of terrace, a king-size bed, a fireplace, two private terraces (one with a jacuzzi) and a bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower. Guests here have access to Spa Terracota's hammam, steam room and heated indoor pool, along with a shared lounge. Dining spans Sem Porta's reinterpretation of international dishes, the fire-led Food Circle, Beefbar, Canalha, and the Italian kitchens of Davvero Comporta and Davvero Blu, with the Beach Club set along the Atlantic.

Beyond the rooms, the resort runs a Kids Club with its own activity programme, tennis and padel courts, a gym open from 6am to 10pm, and organises wine tastings, villa dinners with a dedicated chef, and excursions into the surrounding countryside: bike tours through the rice fields, horse riding across the dunes, birdwatching in the Santo André reserve and boat trips from the nearby Tróia marina. The property traces back to 2001, when Gonçalo Pessoa and Patricia Trigo began buying land in Comporta, opening a 14-room hotel in 2014 before expanding into villas and a larger resort from 2016 onward.
