Overview

The London EDITION occupies a restored historic building at 10 Berners Street, in Fitzrovia, close to Soho, Mayfair and Covent Garden. The 173 guest rooms and suites take their cues from the interior of a yacht: oak floors, walls panelled in light or dark walnut, a cantilevered desk, a tufted George Smith lounge chair and a gold-framed photograph by Hendrik Kerstens. Suites add a larger living area with a George Smith sofa, and select categories, including the Penthouse, have oversized terraces looking over London. Rooms and suites can also be connected into two and three-bedroom configurations.

Dining centres on Berners Tavern, the restaurant from chef Jason Atherton, serving contemporary British food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with Saturday brunch and a Sunday roast. The dining room sits beneath chandeliers modelled on those at Grand Central Station in New York. Above it, a Private Dining Room seats up to 12 guests around a dark-walnut table beneath an original skylight, while the Social Table, within the main Berners Tavern room, accommodates gatherings of 9 to 16. For drinks, the Lobby Bar is a walk-in space with a communal table, a snooker table and twists on classic cocktails, while the Punch Room offers a more intimate, speakeasy-style setting with its Echoes cocktail menu, open Tuesday to Saturday.

Practical amenities include complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout, rainfall showers in every room, and a complimentary gin trolley in suites. The 24-hour gym has cardiovascular machines with personal screens, free weights, a stretching area, complimentary towels, and personal training on request. The hotel sits within London's Congestion Charge and Ultra-Low Emission Zone, with the nearest Underground connections reachable via Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road stations on foot from Berners Street.
