Overview

The Oberoi Sukoonvilas sits in Wadi Safar, part of the Diriyah district on the edge of Riyadh, an area recognised as the birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and historically a crossroads for merchants and explorers. The resort takes its architectural cues from traditional Najdi design: spaces bathed in golden light, lines that follow the natural contours of the wadi, and interiors finished in muted tones and natural materials. Accommodation is arranged as private villas, each with high ceilings, abundant natural light and views of indigenous trees.

Dining is spread across three venues. Yatra serves Indian cuisine under the guidance of Mentor Chef Rohit Ghai, pairing regional dishes with views of the desert at sunset. Linnet, a bakery collaboration with London's Lily Vanilli, runs from morning through afternoon, offering savoury plates alongside Indian teas and Arabic coffee. Beyla is the all-day restaurant, built around curved buffet counters and live kitchens, serving Italian, French, Japanese, Arabic and Indian dishes across indoor and outdoor tables. Wellness is handled by Asmi by Oberoi, which offers personalised therapies, together with an infinity pool overlooking the valley and a fitness centre.

For events, the banquet hall holds up to 160 guests, and the business centre has two smaller meeting rooms for 6 and 8 people. Wadi Safar is also home to the Royal Golf Club, a 27-hole championship course designed by Greg Norman with a 9-hole academy course, and the Royal Equestrian & Polo Club, which has two polo fields and 259 horse stables. At-Turaif, the UNESCO World Heritage Site and birthplace of the first Saudi state, is also within reach. The Oberoi Sukoonvilas is scheduled to open in late 2026.
