Resort · Santa Barbara,
A 78-acre oceanfront resort between the Pacific and the Santa Ynez Mountains, with two miles of beach, three pools and a 42,000-square-foot spa.
The Ritz-Carlton Bacara occupies 78 acres on a bluff between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, with two miles of beach along the Santa Barbara coastline. The property has been newly renovated and combines hacienda-style architecture with a Mediterranean sensibility. It sits next to Sandpiper Golf Course and is within reach of the Santa Ynez wine country, Stearns Wharf and the Santa Barbara Bowl.
Rooms and suites are arranged around ocean or garden outlooks, with hacienda-style interiors and locally inspired art. The Channel Island Suite and The Ritz-Carlton Suite are two-bedroom accommodations with kitchenettes, separate living and dining areas, and private balconies facing the Pacific. The Ritz-Carlton Suite covers 2,000 square feet; the Channel Island Suite covers 3,700 square feet and includes a private entrance reached by Spanish tile steps.
The resort has five restaurants: 'O' Bar & Terrace for modern Latin cooking and cocktails, Lulio for Mediterranean-inspired fare built on local produce and sustainable seafood, Marisella for Amalfi Coast-inspired dishes, SunBar for poolside Californian plates, and Mission Market for light fare in the upper village. The Ritz-Carlton Spa covers 42,000 square feet and includes a redwood sauna, a eucalyptus steam room, a cold plunge and an adults-only pool, alongside fireside lounges and a rooftop terrace. Guests also have access to three heated pools, four Har-Tru clay tennis courts run by Cliff Drysdale Tennis, electric bike rentals, guided beach walks and a Ritz Kids programme for children aged five to twelve.
