Overview

The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka occupies the main tower of the Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City complex, in the heart of downtown Fukuoka on the island of Kyushu, with views across Hakata Bay. It is Marriott International's first luxury property in Kyushu, and opened in June 2023. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Tenjin Station, and about fifteen minutes by car or public transport from Fukuoka Airport, Hakata Station's bullet train service and Hakata Port.

The hotel has 147 guest rooms and 20 suites, set across the 19th to 23rd floors, with rooms starting at 50 square metres and a choice of bay, skyline or park views. The 20 suites are arranged in five types, all corner-situated with bathrooms finished in Mont Carmelo granite. The largest, The Ritz-Carlton Suite, measures 188 square metres and has its own kitchen and a dining room that seats eight. The Presidential Suite, on the 23rd floor, measures 132 square metres and looks over Hakata Bay, Ohori Park and the Sefuri and Tsukushi mountain ranges. Guests on Club Floors have access to the Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, which serves food throughout the day, including a welcome drink of Yame-grown black tea with yuzu and plum, afternoon tea, and live jazz on Friday nights.

Dining runs to six venues: four restaurants and two bars. Genjyu serves kaiseki, sushi and teppan-yaki, with Wagyu beef from Iki Island and seafood from the Genkai Sea presented on Karatsu porcelain. Viridis serves Western cuisine built around local ingredients, Diva is a café known for afternoon tea and pastries, and Bay and The Lobby Lounge & Bar cover cocktails, chargrilled dishes and light meals, the former with a terrace over Hakata Bay. The Ritz-Carlton Spa, on the 24th floor, offers ESPA treatments alongside a lap pool, gym, and steam and dry saunas. The hotel has held Green Key certification for 2025 and 2026, since its opening in June 2023.
