Athens & the Peloponnese
Two nights under the Acropolis, then the mainland coast the islands forget about.
Our notes
Athens has quietly become a city to stay in rather than pass through, with rooftop hotels facing the Acropolis and a restaurant scene that has moved far beyond the taverna. From there the Peloponnese is two hours by car: the mountain villages of Arcadia, the coast around Nafplio and Costa Navarino's resorts on the west. It is Greece with fewer ferries and more history. We arrange a private guide for the Acropolis at opening time and a driver for the mainland, and we can add an island at the end for those who want one.
