Our notes
Iceland is a landscape trip: waterfalls, black beaches, glacier lagoons and the volcanic south coast, with a handful of lodges and design hotels now good enough to make the base as memorable as the day. Winter is for the northern lights and ice caves, summer for the highlands and the midnight sun, and the shoulder months for both with fewer people. We arrange a private guide and super jeep, the geothermal lagoons at times when they are quiet, and the restaurants in Reykjavík that have made the city a food destination.
