Overview

The Reykjavik EDITION stands at Austurbakki 2, by the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavik, within walking distance of Laugavegur Street and the Harpa Concert and Conference Centre. It is roughly a 45-minute drive from Keflavik International Airport and about 8 minutes from Reykjavik's domestic airport, with valet parking available on site. The hotel has 253 rooms and suites in total, including a Penthouse on the sixth floor, designed by Ian Schrager.

Rooms are finished in a palette of ash wood and pale grey oak, with copper details, faux fur rugs and artwork from local craftsmen. Bathrooms are monochrome, with enclosed rainfall showers and Le Labo toiletries. Most beds face floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the harbour, Mount Esja or the Snæfellsjökull glacier, and some rooms have their own outdoor terraces. The suites add separate living and sleeping areas, and the sixth-floor Penthouse has a living room with a column fireplace.

Food and drink runs through the building. Tides, the hotel's signature restaurant, has its own harbourside entrance and serves Icelandic seafood and locally sourced meat, cooked simply in the Nordic style; Tides Cafe next door serves coffee, pastries and sandwiches. The ROOF, on the seventh floor, opens onto a wrap-around terrace with mountain and ocean views, while the Lobby Bar has an open-flame fireplace and TÖLT is a small bar built around Icelandic spirits. The EDITION Spa has a hammam, steam room and sauna, and the gym on the lower-ground floor is open around the clock.
