Overview

Above the village of Gordes, La Bastide occupies a 16th-century palace with views across the Luberon Valley. Terraces and hanging gardens look out over the valley, and inside, period furniture, fine fabrics and works of art create an eighteenth-century atmosphere drawn from pieces sourced across France. The hotel is currently closed and is due to reopen on 22 April 2027.

The hotel has 34 rooms and 6 suites, 40 keys in total, each furnished with antique pieces and finished in wood panelling. Rooms look over either the village of Gordes or the Luberon valley. Categories range from the Superior Village Bedroom and Deluxe Valley Bedroom through Junior Suites and named suites such as the Vasarely Suite, the Baron de Simiane Suite and the Duc de Soubise Suite, to La Maison de Constance, a private villa for up to eight adults.

Four restaurants and a bar serve the hotel: La Table de la Bastide under Chef Pierre Marty, Clover Gordes by Michelin-starred Chef Jean-François Piège, the Italian trattoria La Bastide de Pierres, which has stood opposite the château since 1820, and Beefbar. Ladurée and a Sunday brunch round out the food and drink. The Airelles Spa by Guerlain, built within the hotel's historic walls and inspired by nearby Sénanque Abbey, has an indoor pool, hammam, sauna and four treatment rooms, along with a 90 square metre fitness studio fitted with Technogym Artis equipment. The property also has a Kids' Club and a boutique.
