Overview

San Cassiano, a village in Italy's Dolomites, is home to Aman Rosa Alpina, a historic hotel that emerged as a fully-fledged Aman in 2020 following an extensive renovation. The 51 rooms and suites, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, face either the village or the surrounding forest, each with views of the Dolomites peaks. The resort sits beneath La Varella and Conturines, within a stretch of UNESCO-protected mountains.

Four venues anchor the food and drink. The Grill serves family-style Italian dining on its terrace, Enju offers Japanese Shabu Shabu, Il Salotto is the lounge bar for cocktails, and the Heritage Room serves breakfast with views over the forest. The Aman Spa has seven treatment rooms and three swimming pools, with treatments drawing on the mountain's restorative powers.

In winter, San Cassiano gives access to Dolomiti Superski, with more than 1,200 kilometres of pistes, along with snowshoe hiking and sleigh rides. Summer and autumn open onto hiking and cycling across the surrounding peaks. The hotel closes for the summer season on 18 October 2026 and reopens on 4 December 2026. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Venice Marco Polo Airport, one-and-a-half hours from Bolzano and two hours from Innsbruck, with helicopter transfers available from Venice (45 minutes), Bolzano (22 minutes), Innsbruck (30 minutes) and Milan (70 minutes).
