Overview
Forestis stands at 1,800 metres on the Plose mountain, above Brixen in the Dolomites of South Tyrol. The hotel is surrounded by forest, and its rooms are built so that the view down into the valley, over wooded mountain landscapes and the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, remains unobstructed. Hosts Teresa and Stefan describe the property as a place of retreat, combining the four natural elements with the surrounding architecture.
Four suite categories are named on the site: Room at 35 square metres, Suite at 50 square metres, Tower Suite at 55 square metres and Penthouse at 200 square metres with a rooftop pool, each for two guests with one bedroom. A separate villa, a restored doctors' residence built in 1912 for a planned sanatorium, can be booked by a single party of up to ten people for stays of two nights or more. Its 1,200 square metres of living space are spread over several floors: a stone cellar for events and wine storage, a ground floor with living room, fireplace, kitchen and dining room, a first floor with a master suite and two further en suite bedrooms, and a top floor with a home cinema and two more bedrooms. A private chef and butler service are available throughout a villa stay, and the villa has its own spa and a 1,000 square metre garden with pool, outdoor kitchen and herb garden.
Food is served in two restaurants. The main Restaurant is step-shaped, so each table has both privacy and floor-to-ceiling views of the forest and Dolomites sunsets, while the Garden Restaurant follows a changing, Mediterranean-influenced menu of seasonal produce. Executive Chef Roland Lamprecht, who grew up locally, draws on the forests and meadows of his childhood. The Spa is built around four trees, mountain pine, spruce, larch and stone pine, combined with the area's spring water, mountain air, sunshine and mild climate. Facilities include an indoor and outdoor pool set in dolomite stone, saunas, Silence Rooms, a Wyda Room for Celtic-inspired yoga and energy exercises, a fitness room open all day, and treatment rooms for signature treatments that begin with a conversation between guest and therapist. Guests can also ski in and out, snowshoe, hike or bike directly from the property.
