Hotel · Karuizawa, Japan
A 73-room stay in Karuizawa's Hoshino Area, within walking distance of Harunire Terrace, Karuizawa Kogen Church and the Tonbo-no-yu hot springs.
BEB5 Karuizawa sits in the Hoshino Area of Nagakura, Karuizawa-machi, a short walk from the Tonbo-no-yu hot springs, Harunire Terrace and Karuizawa Kogen Church. The hotel describes itself as a base for exploring the area on foot, and its own grounds include an open-air lounge called TAMARIBA, which is free to use around the clock and has fire pits for cooler evenings. The property is reached in about 70 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo Station, or 65 minutes from Ueno Station, with a further short ride by local train and taxi from Karuizawa Station.
The hotel has 73 rooms across two categories. The YAGURA Room is a loft design, with beds set above a sofa seating area below, built for one to three guests; a sofa bed is added for the third occupant. The Twin Room is a more conventional twin layout with two beds, set in a room with high ceilings and good natural light, for one or two guests. Both room types measure around 19 square metres, include a bathtub, shower and separate WC, and guests remove their shoes at the entrance.
Dining runs across several points connected to the hotel. Restaurant No One's Recipe, inside the neighbouring Hotel Bleston Court, serves a breakfast built around a soba crepe. The 24hOPEN Cafe inside BEB5 operates around the clock with a focus on Karuizawa products such as juice and craft beer. Bleston Court Yukawatan offers a French dinner, with a collared shirt or jacket recommended for men. Harunire Terrace, within walking distance, adds more than ten further restaurants, from Japanese cuisine using local seafood and soba to Italian food, bakeries and gelato. The property allows pets in designated dog-friendly rooms, and offers free private parking plus EV charging points on site.
