Overview

Capella Ubud sits among forest in Desa Keliki, in the Tegallalang district north of Ubud. The property is built as a tented camp, a design by architect Bill Bensley that takes its cue from the European settlers who arrived in Bali in the 1800s, with canvas structures set among trees and largely hidden from one another.

There are twenty-two one-bedroom tents and one two-bedroom lodge, twenty-three keys in total, and every one has its own private pool. The Keliki Tent has a heated pool with jungle views. The Valley Tent has a plunge pool on terraced ground reached by steps, which is not suited to guests with mobility limitations. The Forest Tent, reached by buggy, has a plunge pool and wide forest panoramas. The Terrace Tent has a plunge pool looking onto the forest. All four tent categories come with an outdoor deck and daybeds, a copper bathtub, and both indoor and outdoor showers. The Two Bedroom Lodge looks over the Keliki Valley, has an oriental-themed interior, a private 19 sqm heated pool connected to an open-plan living room, and two ensuite bedrooms, which makes it suited to families or small groups.

Dining and other experiences at the resort include the Mortar and Pestle Bar, along with private dining that ranges from candlelit dinners and picnics to cooking classes and boutique celebrations. The hotel is at Jl. Raya Dalem, Banjar Triwangsa, Desa Keliki, Kecamatan Tegallalang, in Ubud, Gianyar, Bali.
