Our notes
Bali has two speeds. Ubud, inland among the rice terraces, is slow, green and built around wellness, temples and long lunches. The Bukit peninsula in the south, Uluwatu especially, is about cliff top villas, surf breaks and beach clubs that fill from four in the afternoon. Most of our itineraries combine the two, with the airport roughly an hour from either. Villa culture here is exceptional and a private villa with a cook and a driver often costs less than a suite elsewhere. Ask us about the shoulder months of April, May, September and October when the island is dry but not full.
