Overview

HOSHINOYA Bali sits in the Pakerisan River valley near Tampaksiring, in Gianyar regency, a short distance from central Ubud. The resort is built across terraced ground above the river, with jungle and rice fields visible from most of the property. A long pool runs through the grounds, connecting the public areas so that moving between them feels like moving through a single riverside village. The guest villas draw on traditional Balinese architecture in their roofs and layout.

The resort has 30 villas in total, each accommodating between one and four guests. Villa Jalak is a single-story villa of 198 square metres with a wide balcony over the river valley, and sits closest to the restaurant and spa. Villa Soka is a maisonette of 187 square metres, with a second-floor bedroom offering panoramic views and a first-floor living room that opens onto the pool. Villa Bulan, at 208 square metres, has a second-floor bedroom overlooking the grounds and an outdoor living area on the first floor connecting to the pool. All villas include a bathtub, a separate WC with washlet, a mini bar and a Bluetooth speaker.

Dining runs across three restaurants and three café or lounge spaces, including breakfast served in gazebos suspended over the jungle and a five-course dinner at Café Gazebo on the edge of the forest. The Bali Harmony Set Course, served year-round, follows the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. The spa is set halfway down the hill from the main resort, closer to the sounds of the jungle and the Pakerisan River, and practises a form of Balinese massage using herbal medicine and rice flour. A Wellness Stay Program offers three multi-day itineraries built around yoga, purification rituals and spa treatments, including visits to Goa Gajah and the Sebatu waterfall.
