Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan sits in Sayan, a village in Ubud's central highlands, along the Ayung River. Guests cross a suspension bridge above the treetops to reach the property, whose architecture takes the form of stacked rice bowls set into the river valley. Central Ubud is about fifteen minutes away by the Resort's daily shuttle bus, and Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 75-minute drive, roughly 35 kilometres.

The Resort has 11 categories of suites and villas, from the One-Bedroom Suite at 216 square metres to the three-bedroom Royal Villa at 2,125 square metres, reached through the Resort's rooftop and fitted with its own private pool. Villas throughout combine teak furnishings, terrazzo bathrooms and hand-loomed fabrics with private pools and outdoor living spaces; the River-View Two-Bedroom Villa, for example, has a meditation area, an outdoor living room and views over the Ayung River and rice fields.

Dining runs from Ayung Terrace, serving dishes from across the Indonesian archipelago with treetop views, to Riverside, a Mediterranean restaurant drawing on Italian, Spanish, French, Lebanese and Greek cooking, and Jati Bar for afternoon tea over the Ayung River Valley. In-villa dining runs day and night. The Sacred River Spa, set in the river valley, offers Balinese healing rituals, chakra ceremonies and yoga at the Dharma Shanti Bale pavilion, with resident Wellness Mentor Ibu Fera, a former Buddhist nun, leading meditation and life-talk sessions. Families can use the Pici Pici kids club, and children 18 and under stay in their parents' room at no extra charge.
