Overview

Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat stands on the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, on Boulevard du Général de Gaulle, a short walk from the promenade du Cap and its views over the cliffs of the Mediterranean. The hotel has operated here for more than a century. Its original Rotunda, with bay windows looking out over Aleppo pines to the sea, was designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1909. The interiors, in white marble and pale textures, were designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon; a newer wing was added by architect Luc Svetchine, and the gardens were shaped by landscape designer Jean Mus.

Accommodation is split between the Heritage Building and Les Terrasses du Cap, a separate wing set among its own grounds. Room categories range from the Superior Pinewood Room to the sea-facing Palace Sea-View Suite and the two-storey Penthouse, while three private villas, Rose Pierre, Beauchamp and Clair Soleil, each come with a fully-equipped kitchen and a personal attendant. Dining runs from the Michelin-starred Le Cap, where Chef Yoric Tièche cooks Provençal and Mediterranean dishes with produce from the hotel's own gardens and a wine list of 1,200 bottles, to the bistro-style La Véranda and the open-air grill at Club Dauphin, the hotel's beach club with its heated seawater pool.

The spa has an indoor pool, outdoor treatment cabanas and a hydrotherapy circuit with private steam rooms and saunas for men and women. Treatments use products from Dr Burgener and Biologique Recherche. Families are looked after at the Sea Explorers Kids Club and through a programme that includes kids' spa treatments. Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is around 30 minutes from Nice and 25 minutes from Monaco by car; Nice airport is roughly 40 minutes away.
