Overview
Longitude 131° sits among red-rust dunes in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, in Australia's Northern Territory. Sixteen tented pavilions face the rock directly, floor-to-ceiling glass framing Uluru from the end of the bed. Fifteen are Luxury Tents or Luxury Tent Premium View rooms, each 63 square metres. The sixteenth, the Dune Pavilion at 153 square metres, is the only accommodation in Australia with views to both Uluru and Kata Tjuta, and includes a private plunge pool. Ayers Rock Airport, the nearest gateway, is roughly three hours by air from most Australian capital cities. The lodge welcomes children aged ten and over.
Dining draws on produce from across the country: beef from Tasmania's Cape Grim, barramundi from Humpty Doo and shellfish from South Australia. Dinner is served in the Dune House restaurant from 7pm, and Table 131° offers an outdoor dining experience with a paired wine menu, set among the dunes. Spa Kinara sits low in the sand, built in the style of a traditional Aboriginal wiltja shelter. Its treatments use native ingredients such as irmangka-irmangka, also known as scented emu bush, prepared through the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women's Council's Ngangkari Program.
Guests follow a signature itinerary of guided experiences included in the tariff: sunset drinks facing Uluru, a sunrise walk through Walpa Gorge and Kata Tjuta, the Mala Walk into Kantju Gorge, the Mutitjulu Meander past a waterhole at the base of Uluru, and an evening at Bruce Munro's Field of Light installation. Bespoke experiences, at additional cost, include guided hikes such as the Valley of the Winds and the Uluru Base Walk, helicopter flights, camel tours and a day trip to Kings Canyon. The lodge holds Two MICHELIN Keys and was named among Tatler's Best Hotels Asia-Pacific in 2025. Longitude 131° will close for a soft refurbishment from 25 January to 19 April 2027.
