Overview

RISONARE Nasu sits on 42,000 acres of forest in Nasu-cho, Tochigi, reached in 20 minutes by car from the Tohoku Expressway or by a free shuttle bus from Nasu-Shiobara Station on the JR Tohoku Shinkansen, a 40-minute ride. The resort holds 43 rooms with occupancy from one to four guests, check-in from 3pm and check-out at noon. Wi-Fi is free throughout the rooms and in some public areas. Pets are permitted, though only for guests travelling from within Japan and under specific conditions at the restaurants.

The kitchen draws on the resort's own Agri-Garden, where vegetables and herbs are grown on site, alongside rice from its own paddy fields and seasonal produce from Nasu. OTTO SETTE NASU, the resort's main restaurant in the Annex building, serves an Italian course menu rooted in Tuscan tradition, open for dinner from 5:30pm to 9:30pm with reservations required three days in advance. SHAKI SHAKI, a buffet restaurant on the first floor of the Main Building, serves breakfast and dinner, its main course built around beef and Yashio trout prepared with distinct grilling techniques. POKO POKO offers lunch and a Books & Cafe setting through the day, and the Forest Night Lounge serves sparkling wine, grappa and herbal tea in the evening. Anniversary arrangements, including cakes, flower bouquets and champagne, can be booked through the front desk with four days' notice.

Guests staying on site have access to ten complimentary activities, among them farm lessons in planting and harvesting, herbal tea blending in the greenhouse, bonfire marshmallow roasting, a forest treasure hunt, forest craft making and a play area with a 6.5 metre net structure and ball pool for children. The resort has one onsen with indoor and open-air baths looking onto the forest, a public bath, a pool, a spa and massage facility, a meeting room and a playroom. Parking covers 35 units, free and without reservation, and EV charging is available around the clock. Online payment accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and JCB.
