Singita Elela
Elela is Singita's newest lodge, a cluster of private camps in Botswana's Okavango Delta linked by walkways above the seasonal floodwaters.
Overview
Singita Elela is in Botswana's Okavango Delta, announced in November 2024 as Singita's first property in the country and expected to open in 2026. The lodge is made up of several private camps arranged in a loose circle, connected to each other by walkways, canopies and communal spaces. Mesh walls let the breeze move through the interiors, and the walkways are built so the Delta's seasonal floodwaters can pass beneath them.
Each camp operates privately, with its own vehicle kept ready so guests can go out when they choose rather than on a fixed schedule. At the centre of the property is a shared hub, where guests can walk into the kitchens, take a seat in the canteen, or spend time in the Conservation Lounge and the Boutique & Gallery. The design removes the usual separation between indoor and outdoor space, and between guests, guides and the surrounding wilderness.
Elela joins a Singita portfolio that began with Ebony Lodge in South Africa in 1993 and today spans four countries. As at Singita's other properties, guests at Elela can work with the in-house Journey Designers team for itinerary planning, advice and tailored services.
