Lodge · Malilangwe, Zimbabwe
A private villa built on a sandstone ridge above Malilangwe Dam in Zimbabwe, staffed with a dedicated chef, guide and butler for family groups.
Malilangwe House sits on a sandstone ridge in Zimbabwe's remote southeast, inside the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, with views over Malilangwe Dam and the surrounding wilderness. A grand entrance opens into a circular lounge, then out through wide doors onto decks shaded by canopies; boulders spill directly into the dining room, and from almost every vantage point the dam and the bush beyond are visible. Below the house, hippos call and crocodiles move through the water, while game crosses the landscape within sight of the terraces.
The villa operates as a private-use home set apart from Singita's other lodges: guests are assigned a dedicated private chef, a game vehicle, a Field Guide and a butler, with the freedom to shape each day as they choose. Living areas are open and free-flowing, furnished with décor that draws on the region's tribal history, and a private infinity pool wraps around a section of the outdoor deck. On-site activities include game drives, guided safari walks, a wine experience, fishing, tennis, yoga, fitness, wellness treatments, stargazing, bird watching, a sundowner cruise and visits to neighbouring communities.
Malilangwe House has private access to the 115,000-acre Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, managed by the Malilangwe Trust across 38 habitats and ecological zones. The Trust reintroduced 28 black and 15 white rhinos to the reserve in 1998; both populations have grown to the point where Malilangwe now supplies rhinos for restocking programmes elsewhere in Africa. The Trust also runs an Environmental Education Centre for local schoolchildren and a nutrition programme that provides a meal to 20,000 children each day.
Eligible preferred amenities are applied wherever available, subject to the property at the time of stay, and are confirmed in your proposal.
The falls at full flood, Hwange's elephant and guiding widely held to be Africa's best.
