Overview
The Chedi Muscat sits on the coast of the Gulf of Oman, where the Al Hajar Mountains meet the water, on 18th November Street in Al Khuwair, Muscat. It opened in 2003 as Oman's first contemporary beach hotel and holds 162 Omani-influenced guestrooms and villas across a 21-acre landscaped garden. The architecture combines Omani forms with Asian detailing, visible in the property's arches, courtyards and reflective ponds.
Six restaurants and lounges cover a range of cuisines. The Restaurant serves Western, Asian, Middle Eastern and Indian fare under Omani arches and crystal chandeliers, with four open show kitchens and live piano music. The Beach Restaurant runs along a 383-metre private beach with a seafood-focused menu. The Long Pool Cabana overlooks the 103-metre Long Pool, described as the longest in the Middle East, and serves Japanese and Asian dishes. Guests can also use The Chedi Pool Cabana, The Serai Pool Cabana, The Lobby Lounge, The Shisha Courtyard and The Arabian Courtyard. Wellness facilities include a thirteen-suite Balinese-style spa and a 700-square-metre health club, alongside three swimming pools in total.
Accommodation in the Serai Wing includes the Serai Room and Serai Sea View Room, both 33 square metres with a king-size bed, each able to sleep two adults and one child up to age six. Serai Sea View Rooms look directly onto the Gulf of Oman, while other Serai rooms face the Hajar Mountains or Muscat city. The resort also hosts weddings and events, with private dining rooms named The Khasab, The Mirbat and The Nizwa, plus two meeting rooms, The Salalah and The Nizwa.
