Overview
The Oberoi Sukhvilas sits at the edge of the Siswan Forest in Pallanpur Village, New Chandigarh, roughly thirty minutes from Chandigarh city centre. The resort's architecture draws on traditional Rajasthani design: sunlit courtyards, domed pavilions, hand-painted frescoes and gold leaf detailing run through its villas, tents and rooms, each with a forest and garden view and round-the-clock in-room service.
Accommodation ranges from the Premier Room, with its bay window seat looking over the gardens and forest, to tented suites inspired by the caravans that once crossed India, up to the Kohinoor Villa, a three-building residence with a 16-metre private pool and a domed dining pavilion that sleeps six. Dining is split across Anant Mahal, serving International and Ayurvedic dishes grown on the resort's own farm beneath hand-painted gold leaf frescoes, and Kaanan, a forest-facing Indian restaurant open for dinner nightly and lunch on weekends. Raunaq Bar serves drinks by the fireside or out over a torch-lit courtyard.
Wellness centres on Asmi by Oberoi, a spa built around five pillars, movement, nutrition, bodywork, breathwork and mindfulness, reserved for resident guests and open from eight in the morning until half past seven at night. The resort also arranges forest bathing within the surrounding Siswan Forest, private yoga sessions, and a naturalist-led tour of Chandigarh's trees, some of which are said to be 250 years old. A Durbar Hall and business centre cater to events and meetings on site.
