The Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou sits within China Central Place, a new development in the Gusu District, next to the historic Gusu ancient city. The hotel has 190 guestrooms and suites, five event and meeting venues, and three restaurants: Biao Xia for Huaiyang cuisine, Alkanna for international dishes, and Feng Pan Ting, a tea lounge built around Suzhou's tea culture.
Rooms are organised by view, either Gusu garden or city, and by whether they include access to The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge on the fifth floor. The design follows Suzhou's architectural vocabulary: black lines against white surfaces, a restrained palette, and simple geometry throughout. The Ritz-Carlton Suite, on the 18th floor, covers 306 square metres and looks over the old city and garden architecture. The Club Lounge serves food and drink through the day, with hors d'oeuvres from 5:30pm to 8pm, and opens an outdoor terrace to guests booked into Club-level rooms.
The hotel stands within walking distance of Pingjiang Historic Street, Shantang Street, Hanshan Temple, and two UNESCO-listed gardens, Lingering Garden and Humble Administrator's Garden. The Suzhou Museum, designed by I. M. Pei, and the H+ Art Museum, designed by Tadao Ando, are also nearby. On site, guests have a 128-square-metre fitness centre on the LG2 floor, open 24 hours, and an indoor heated pool on the same floor, open from 6am to 11pm. Biao Xia, the hotel's Chinese restaurant, has been selected for the Michelin Guide 2026.
