Our notes
Como is a Y shaped lake an hour north of Milan, with the best hotels on the western shore between Cernobbio and Tremezzo and around Bellagio at the fork. Almost all of them have a jetty, which matters: the lake road is narrow and slow, and the boat is both quicker and the point. Spring and early autumn are the seasons; many hotels close from November to March. We arrange the boat, the transfer from Milan and the gardens at Villa Carlotta and Villa del Balbianello.
