Our notes
Singapore is the hinge for much of Asian travel, and a pleasant place to spend three nights rather than an airport. The grand colonial hotels have been restored, the new towers compete on rooftop pools, and the hawker centres and restaurants together make it one of the great eating cities. The Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay are worth a morning each. We arrange the tables, a night safari at the zoo for families, and onward connections to Bali, the Maldives or Bhutan that leave at civilised hours.
